Who is Competent to Contract? (2016)

Section 11 of the Indian contract Act provides that a person is competent to contract if:
He or she is of the age of majority according to the law he or she is subject to He or she is of sound mind He or she is not disqualified by the law he or she is subject to
F igure: Competent to Contract Thus in order to enter into a valid contract one has to have all the three requirements and if any of these requirements is not fulfilled then he or she is incapable of entering into a valid contract, a contract recognized and enforceable by law.

Minors Persons
with unsound mind
Persons disqualified by law
